Delivering an open-source software solution to meet H.R. 1 requirements
Medicaid is a critical component of our safety net, providing health care for tens of millions of households every year. The passage of H.R. 1 brings significant legislative changes that state Medicaid agencies must implement while continuing to deliver excellent services.

What we're building
Nava is building a new, open-source software solution to support states in implementing the Medicaid work requirements and complying with H.R. 1. Backed by a decade of experience helping agencies deliver on tight, high-stakes deadlines, Nava will offer:
A modular, open-source, and production-hardened architecture and set of templates that jumpstart development
A suite of software and infrastructure tools to build, operate, and maintain digital service applications rapidly and safely
Regular demo days to work in the open, report on progress, and share lessons learned from states
Philanthropic opportunities to augment or help offset implementation costs
Why we're different
Our approach stands in stark contrast to traditional industry models that lock agencies into costly vendor relationships and inflexible technology. Other vendors will make promises with proprietary software and offshore labor, for millions of dollars, while states hold all the risk.
We believe there’s another way.
We build with, not for our state implementation partners. By building in the open, we’ll enable states to:
Reduce unnecessary cost, time, and risk
Control long-term roadmaps
Own systems and software long after a contract ends
