Aquia-Nava wins contract with VA to support AI solutions that improve Veteran health

We’ll support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs with artificial intelligence-enabled solutions and technical management.

We’re excited to announce Aquia Nava II LLC —  a joint venture between Aquia and Nava PBC — was awarded a three-year, $2.6 million contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Artificial Intelligence Institute (NAII). During this contract, our team will support AI-enabled solutions that enhance the Veteran health care system.

Nava is a public benefit corporation on a mission to make government services simple and effective. For the past several years, we’ve honed our capabilities in leveraging generative AI to improve public services. We will help NAII identify AI use cases, shape AI-powered solutions, run pilots, iterate with users, and scale solutions.

“We’re pleased to expand our portfolio of projects that improve public outcomes by responsibly applying AI to enterprise workflows and user experiences, all while working with the trailblazing teams at VA,” said Jodi Leo, Nava’s Chief Delivery Officer. “NAII's focus is to operationalize AI technologies that improve Veteran health outcomes and alleviate workload burden. Nava has deep experience implementing targeted AI use cases at the state and federal levels, which reduces manual processes and operational overhead while creating more intuitive experiences through AI-enhanced services.”

Nava is leading the field in researching and implementing AI-enabled solutions that actuate positive outcomes for the public. Nava Labs, our philanthropically funded division focused on prototyping policy and systems changes within government programs, is researching and piloting AI-enabled tools with caseworkers who help families find and apply for benefits in California, Texas, and Pennsylvania. The team is working closely with caseworkers to build an AI-enabled chatbot that’s human-centered, trustworthy, and safe.
