We’re excited to announce Nava’s joint venture with Focus Consulting received a one-year prime contract to help the U.S. Department of State’s (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology develop an Online Consular Adjudication Module (OCAM). This module will support a core federal service — enabling DOS employees to review and determine passport application eligibility and completeness. We’ll help DOS replace manual processes and complex legacy systems with a modern, scalable, and efficient application that meets people’s needs.
Nava is a public benefit corporation on a mission to make government services simple and effective. For a decade, we’ve helped federal and state agencies build modern and adaptable systems. We’ll leverage our expertise in human-centered design, agile development, and systems integration to help DOS build an effective application experience.
“Modernizing the passport determination process will ease DOS staff’s workload while streamlining the passport issuance process for all Americans,” said Rohan Bhobe, Nava’s CEO and co-founder. “We’re excited to partner with Focus and DOS on this transformative work.”
Focus-Nava joint venture has a track record of partnering with government on important modernization initiatives. Earlier this year, the joint venture finished working with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide digital transformation support. This fast-paced effort helped lay the groundwork for modernization at the IRS by bridging silos, fostering new ways of working, building buy-in with IRS stakeholders, and enhancing administrative capacity.
