In partnership with Benefits Data Trust and with funding from Gates Foundation and Google.org, the Nava Labs team is in the early stages of creating, testing, and piloting a tool for benefits navigators such as caseworkers, call center specialists, community health workers, and other community partners, to utilize when helping families identify and enroll in public assistance programs. Our goal is to support navigators' common workflows while developing an understanding of how we can ethically use predictive and generative artificial intelligence to expand access to public benefits.
In this session we'll talk through the opportunity areas we've identified through research with navigators, beneficiaries, and community organizations, and share an example of the experiments we're running and what we're learning from it.
