Nava wins modernization work in Maryland

Through this 10-year opportunity, we’ll offer our expertise in agile development to help Maryland agencies modernize.

Nava is thrilled to announce we’ve won a place on the State of Maryland’s Department of General Services (DGS) Statewide Agile Resources and Teams contract. This opportunity to compete for work over a 10-year period across a $445 million ceiling will enable us to help Maryland state agencies modernize in ways that minimize risk and best serve constituents.

Nava is a public benefit corporation (PBC) on a mission to make government services simple and effective. For a decade, we’ve honed our expertise in agile methodology, and we’re excited to share and build on this expertise with partners in Maryland and support the state’s integrated eligibility system.

“Maryland is building a leading digital services team and has laid out an impressive vision for how state government should work for the public,” said Sha Hwang, Nava’s Chief Operations Officer. “We’re excited to bring our decade of experience to partner with Maryland on initiatives that streamline benefits access and enrollment, promote scalability, and ultimately deliver for residents.”

This contract is the second we’ve won in Maryland. Last October, we announced we won work to help build the state’s paid family and medical leave insurance program (FAMLI), which will launch in 2028. Agile methodology is central to our work on that contract, and we’re excited to apply our learnings and best practices to more agencies in Maryland. Nava’s also worked with states to integrate public benefit programs and align discrepancies in requirements across benefit applications. This experience will help us make access to government services more efficient for Maryland residents and government staff.
