Nava wins new work to make it easier for Veterans to apply for disability compensation

Alongside the prime contractor Agile Six, Nava will work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to update the VA.gov disability application experience.

Nava is thrilled to have won a two-year, $7.5 million subcontract to support the VA as they improve how Veterans apply for disability compensation while reducing paper applications and increasing the reliability of claims data for VA staff.

As a public benefit corporation seeking to make government services simple, effective, and accessible to all, we’re excited to embark on this mission-aligned work that will improve how Veterans obtain the critical benefits they deserve.

“We are grateful to be awarded this work so that we can improve the end-to-end experience from application to decision,” said Jodi Leo, Nava’s Chief Delivery Officer. “In addition to the Veteran-facing application, our team is examining the systems and business operations behind the scenes to make them more effective for VA staff, who are committed to ensuring faster decisions and distribution of benefits to Veterans."

Nava is also working with the VA’s Office of the CTO’s (OCTO) Benefits Delivery Team to build tools that reduce the amount of time it takes to process a Veterans’ disability benefits claim. Our iterative, human-centered approach is both serving Veterans and providing knowledge generation for sustainable, repeatable processes in the VA’s future.
