Nava is excited to announce we won a contract with the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation to support their student aid processing portal. We’ll help the agency modernize the system state staff use to manage and support students with financial aid, ultimately helping students receive aid quicker and more accurately.
Nava is a public benefit corporation on a mission to make government services simple and effective. For over a decade, we’ve honed our expertise in delivering custom human-centered and cloud-native services, which we’ll use to support New York student aid services.
“We’re excited to work with a new state partner, my home state of New York, on a system that supports hundreds of thousands of students with financial aid each year,” said David Helene, Nava’s Director of State Solutions. “The new, cloud-native processing portal will streamline staff workflows with automation and integration, simplifying how state staff review and verify student aid applications. Most important, it will make the challenging experience of applying for financial aid less burdensome for students”
Nava isn’t new to helping government agencies build cloud-native services. In the past, Nava partnered with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to help migrate their applications from traditional data centers to the cloud. Transitioning to cloud-native software gave OPM a more secure, cost-effective, and flexible way to house the applications that provide essential services to over 9 million federal employees, retirees, former employees, and family members.
This award furthers Nava’s strong track record of supporting higher education. Nava’s working with the Department of Education's Federal Student Aid office on improving the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Moreover, through Nava’s recent acquisition of Beam, Nava supports hundreds of partnerships in higher education, including the Washington Student Achievement Council, the Minnesota State University System, and more.
